Today, at dVerse, the thing is "irreverence" - which is not a word in Norwegian (though, we have an adjective close to "irreverant"). Speaking of answering the prompt, I found a poem I wrote last winter. And my choice is to be a bit disrespectful to myself. Showing a bit of self-irony, that is.
The name Lauren, we know, is associated with victory. The name means "laurel tree", "sweet of honor", or "wisdom".
[Intro]
[Refrain]
See, I have got a friend, (so yeah,) –
I’ve really got a friend!
And Lauren is her name, (so yeah;)
I know I’ve got a friend!
[Verse 1]
When I think of the ones
whose “over there” and sons,
I think of Lauren as
the being of that class.
[Choir]
Da da da da, (and hey!)
da da da da, (to stay)!
Da da da da, (the joy!)
da da da da, (oh‘ boy)!
[Instrumental]
[Refrain]
See, I have got a friend, (so yeah,) –
I’ve really got a friend!
And Lauren is her name, (so yeah;)
I know I’ve got a friend!
[Verse 3]
She’s loyal, she is meek.
My humour she will seek.
The tune which she will sing,
on feet, the heart will bring.
[Verse 4]
Whenever I am lost
in thoughts of prey and cost;
I think of her as mine,
and heavenly I shine!
[Choir]
Da da da da, (and hey!)
da da da da, (to stay)!
Da da da da, (the joy!)
da da da da, (oh‘ boy)!
[Outro]
The sardonic biting tone jumps...
