Thinking of Prey

Once in a lifetime, I say to my love,
one will be thinking of hawk and of dove.
Why, she asks proudly, admitting her neck.
Why not the hand given of cards the deck?

Ace, I say, would then be what dove is not.
Splendid, she says, birdie now you have got.
Smiling, I say, Holy Spirit is what?
Dove, she says, – surely. The white means a lot.

Bird of prey, (namely, of prey, so to say,)
bird of prey (being like to night the day,)
bird of prey (which is not quite like the dove.)
will take to wings after makings of love.

Dove is now nodding, she quietly says.
Doves are like nodding, in so many ways,
I say, and really to ponder upon
is what the mercy of dove is then won.

Pride! she says, straightening her pretty neck.
Pride, I say, signifies cards in the deck.
Ace can be one, she says, smiling a lot.
Hawk can be helpful, I say, that is got.

Making Aquaintance

[Intro]

[Verse 1]
We sit down at a café and
we talk about the weather.
The weather, I say, makes no strand.
We are in it together.

[Verse 2]
What about the wind and rain,
you ask and make a gesture.
By it the weather is a pain,
I say, as if by torture.

[Chorus]
In Norway, know, it is a verb,
I say, to weather, meaning
“to be”. You see, the one superb
is not on playing leaning.

[Bridge]
That is fantastic, you say. Glow!
Give me to feel the summer!
I smile, and say, what are you now?
The “be’ar” playing drummer?

[Instrumental]

[Chorus]
In Norway, know, it is a verb,
I say, to weather, meaning
“to be”. You see, the one superb
is not on playing leaning.

[Bridge]
That is fantastic, you say. Glow!
Give me to feel the summer!
I smile, and say, what are you now?
The “be’ar” playing drummer?

[Verse 3]
You laugh, and say, a busy “bee”
I am, now, in that respect!
The Viking is to me, you see,
to kill by sound intellect!

[Outro]
The Viking is to me, you see,
to weather, damned to be …

Dancing Shadows

DANCING SHADOWS

The quiet of the evening softly glows.
A whisper of the day here wildly flows.
A shadow dances on a cobblestone,
betrayal, to the mind of heart unknown.

The stars peek out in heaven’s velvet sky,
while moon takes care to sing a lullaby.
The evening breeze carries a sweet refrain,
and echoes joy, mingled with loss and pain.

I really come to think of her, my love,
who my importance down to earth did throw.
On cobblestone impatiently I thread.
What if the walk I was aware, instead.

My footsteps heavily tread winding path.
My mind, though, mingles with the aftermath.
If hearts entwined in such a fine embrace,
I should find solace in this sacred space.

Perhaps the heavens cradle our dreams,
as we go through life’s intricate made seams.
With every step on our cobblestone
we find the strength in love, not there alone.
