The son be fun
Sparkling Night
I take my beauty by the hand.
Together, now, we’ll walk the strand.
It’s night, the sun is gone for moon
to show, and it will this walk tune.
How are you, she asks, are you well?
Quite well, my beauty, I will tell
I say, as I walk beside you.
That is what us aside will do.
It’s night, she says, are you afraid?
No way, I say, the future laid
by love, and not by vision damned.
Remember, here today we swam.
I know I’ve got her smiling, she
looks at me, just to set me free.
This night of day, she says, will it
be making day, so just a bit?
Oh’ dear, I say, give me a kiss.
She does, and I say, this the bliss
tomorrow will be beautiful,
of this night of a wonder full.

Nights make the sweetest love poems, as you prove. ๐ I enjoyed the musical track too, a good reminder that the earliest poems were probably meant to be sung.

"she
ReplyDeletelooks at me, just to set me free." ahh, that is what love does. Sigh.
